    Hey ThemFusion and everyone,

this is more like a request for a checkbox.

So, to make it easier, and since not everyone wants to use the OptIn / Privacy Option provided by Avada, it would be super awesome if you could add a checkbox for the YouTube element, saying: Use Privacy Mode.
When checked the element will not use http://www.youtube.com but http://www.youtube-nocookie.com

I just posted this as a support ticket, but I thought it would be nice if others / more people could upvote for this element feature.

    Thanks in advance and cheers

    Hi Tim,

Unfortunately the nocookie domain is rather misleading and not true cookieless and therefore also not GDPR compliant if you consider the regular YouTube not to be compliant. For example, https://cybot.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/614733-iframe-cookie-consent-with-youtube-example

    Relevant quote:

Please note that YouTube offers you to serve videos from the alternative domain http://www.youtube-nocookie.com which is not setting http cookies. Instead the alternative domain is setting persistent “super cookies” in the browsers HTML Locale Storage which also requires consent.

This is why the nocookie domain is not used in the theme.

    Hey Michael,

thank you for your answer. Didn’t knew about that. Here’s a quote from a legal site when generating a Privacy Policy for your website:

The use of YouTube is associated with legal uncertainties. These can not be completely resolved by activating the “Advanced Privacy” mode. However, they can at least be reduced so that its use is recommended.

I just think it would be nice to have the option to choose and which domain to use. Alternatively give both quotes as hint / notice – and if the site owner wants to be totally compliant he / she has to use the Consent overlay.

Agree, would be awesome to have the option to choose which one to use 🙂
