Avada Forums Community Forum Update Avada 5.4 version to 5.6.2 not working

    Hi,

    I’m working with the 5.4 Avada theme version. I’m trying to update the theme to the 5.6.2 version but it’s showing me an error message. The problem seems to be with languages files (I’m working in French – backend and frontend).

    Here is the error message :
    Une erreur est survenue lors de la mise à jour de Avada La mise à jour ne peut pas être installée parce que nous n’allons pas pouvoir copier certains fichiers. Ce problème est généralement dû à des incohérences dans les permissions de fichiers. languages, languages/Avada.pot, languages/fr_CA.po, languages/fr_CA.mo

    Than, it says that it’s impossible to copy this file : /opt/bitnami/apps/wordpress/htdocs/wp-content/languages/admin-network-fr_CA.po

    I didn’t change anything in these files by the past. I really don’t know what do do!

    Hi @josiane

    As the error says, it is due to your web servers folder/file permissions as to why the auto update method is failing. You can ask your hosting provider to sort out the CHMOD or manually update the theme via FTP.

    Something else that is important is to also ensure any patches that our team releases between update cycles are applied as part of ongoing maintenance for your install and always clear your cache plugins post update
