“templates” and structures (column, container, element) saved as “global”

Hello,

Bran new and novice in website design ….
I’m trying to implement a page (portfolio style) model that would be saved as a template.
I noticed that when I modify the template, modifications are not being updated in the existing portfolio pages.
Therefore I am looking for help on how to set up and then eventually modify the template, and have those changes be updated to the pages already created and published.
I believe this is the function of the “global” property, if I am not mistaken.
However, I saved a container as a “global” item so that any modifications to this container could be updated.
The problem is that not only the container but also the text inside goes also global… and as a consequence the default value of the text erases the original text edited in each document.

Could you help me, please?
