I’m not a website builder, but I purchased Avada theme 2 years ago, built my site on the Resume demo and keep my Avada theme up to date. When installing Google Analytics, I had some problems with my site not showing up as an https site. The hosting company sent me this message:
“To utilize SSL for your website we need to completely update your website code to use SSL and also setup a HTACCESS rule to automatically change HTTP to HTTPS. We can have our web dev team provide you a quote on what it would take to get this done.”
Does this make sense? It doesn’t to me. Isn’t this already built into my Avada theme website code?
Thanks for any insight before I pay out for work not needed. ~CJMichael CKeymasterJune 20, 2018 at 7:54 amPost count: 540
SSL set-up is really separate from the theme. There is nothing in Avada which will stop you using SSL but the set-up process is completely separate. My suggestion would be to check Google for tutorials on SSL and WordPress. For example – http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-add-ssl-and-https-in-wordpress/
Note, the quote from the hosting company seems a little misleading to me and makes it seem like a bigger process than it really is.
