Smooth Scroll on Icon click

Hey, I was wondering if it is possible to do a smooth scroll function on an icon. I have the icon set up with a link attribute that is attached to a menu anchor for a container below. It currently works fine when you click on the icon, but it just does an “instant” redirect to that section on the page. I would like to be able to keep the icon (instead of using a one page link element) as it has the desired animation effects built in but add a smooth scrolling effect to that page. I hope that makes sense to someone
