Overlapping Elements/Columns

Hi All,
I am trying to create a graphic and text area similar to this:

I realize that they used an image created outside of the website and uploaded, it is not coded.

I have been playing around with using negative margins, padding, etc and while it looks good sometimes, on some browsers it’s completely distorted like this:

Is there a plugin or way to do what I am trying to achieve? The website page is:

Hi,

Which browser/OS is giving you the issue?

Do you have a mock up or wire frame of what you want? I see your “distorted” view. But, it would be good to compare it with the intended design.

Hi Mark,
Apologies for the delay.

I am using Safari to build, but I also looked at the site on Chrome and it appears to be the same. Here is my intended design:
