I am not liking this annoying behavior of syntax highlighter… I am unable to copy the selected text by “ctrl+c” nor “right click and copy”. Only copy to clipboard works, but that’s not always what I want.

Go to any Syntax Highlighter section here https://avada.theme-fusion.com/syntax-highlighter/ and try to select some code and copy it. It does not copy. How to fix this?

Could someone enlighten me how to fix this?

    Hi,

There’s nothing to fix. This is by design. If you don’t like the way the Syntax Highlighter behaves, then use a Code Block. Inside the code block use <pre></pre> tags. Insert your code between the preformat tags. Then you can copy/paste snippets from there.

Live example (bottom of page): https://marklchaves.com/equal-height-columns/

    Preformat tag reference: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Element/pre

Thank you #marklchaves, I understand a pre tag can be used. But if you look at any syntax highlighter in the community, they all allow copying. Why can not Avada have this?

I would like you guys to talk about it so that Avada supports this.

    Hi @bikraji,

Ah, understood. But, the Fusion Builder syntax highlighter isn’t used in this community forum. Easy to prove. View the source of this page and search on fusion-syntax-highlighter. You won’t find it. If you do the same–view source and search on my page, you will get about seven hits.

So this begs the question. What is being used here in the community forum to escape special code characters? One of my fave languages. Markdown is being used.

    Enjoy!
