We just updated our website from Avada 5.6.2 to Avada 5.7. Avada patches applied and Avada core plugins updated as well.
After the update, we noticed our fusion sliders are not loading. We see a “spinning wheel.” Everything else checks good.
We tried every imaginable troubleshooting step at our end to ensure no set-up issue at our end (i.e., plugins on and off, emptied cache, cloudflare on and off, Avada Options Dynamic CSS & JS off, etc.).
Website console reveals the following error(s):
Uncaught Error: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: #fusion-slider-# h1, #fusion-slider-# h2, #fusion-slider-# h3, #fusion-slider-# h4, #fusion-slider-# h5, #fusion-slider-# h6

Has anyone run into this issue yet? Anyone got a fix? Shall we wait for the next update and/or patches?
Any info you can provide will help!

Update: Our hosting company performed an additional check and found the triggers listed below in our database. Hoping this will help in your attempt to solve this for all. Thanks!
The actions that are being triggered by the queries are:

How did you update the theme?
The above error indicates a problem with the upgrade conversion. To resolve the problem you will need to edit the Slider and re-add the settings and save. That should then load again (individual slides should be fine, just the slider values need re-added).Jetxpert-EnvatoBlockedOctober 8, 2018 at 10:51 amPost count: 339
Thanks for your input. We updated the theme within WordPress (using automatic update, as usual).
We’ll try your method and report back. Give us 3-4 days.
Originally, in an attempt to solve the issue, we “cloned” the affected slider(s), saved them under a new name, and cleared our caches. We then selected the renamed slider(s) as our new slider(s), but didn’t work.
Not sure why the update process didn’t work either, but believe transferring our website from one hosting provider to another around the same time Avada 5.7 was released could have been part of the problem.
By the way, we noticed Avada 5.7 did change a few things affecting the fusion sliders (click/see below). Based on the above errors and the update, would a patch be worthy of exploring at your end?
Again, thank you!
From above link:
7. Fusion Slider Settings Moved in Database
In previous versions of Avada, the Fusion Slider settings have been stored in the wp_options table of WordPress. That simply has been the case, because Fusion Slider was released, before WordPress introdiced wp_terms_meta table in WP 4.4. To improve the table management and also option deletion process, when sliders are deleted, we move the Fusion Slider options to the wp_terms_meta table in Avada 5.7. This is done through an automatic migration on update, so you don’t have to do anything.
When exporting or migrating a site, it is important that you don’t “mix” a pre Avada 5.7 site with a site on Avada 5.7 or later, to make sure you don’t have Fusion Slider option entries in both database tables, or worse just in the wp_options table (old), and not the wp_terms_meta one (new).Michael CKeymasterOctober 8, 2018 at 11:18 amPost count: 528
You can also try running the migration manually with the following code – https://gist.github.com/ilicfilip/3769f276e5c6f976cf6f9aa6a457f3a9
The file can be saved to wp-content/plugins and should show up in the plugins list to be activated. Then once activated it should run. Then you can disable the plugin again.
Regarding this – “By the way, we noticed Avada 5.7 did change a few things affecting the fusion sliders (click/see below).” What in particular has changed? If you refer to the errors and slider not loading, that is due to migration not running rather than an error in the migration. So that really can’t be patched directly.Jetxpert-EnvatoBlockedOctober 8, 2018 at 11:43 amPost count: 339
Thank you. Perfect. Should we install and activate the plugin before or after we update Avada?
We’ll report back on the method used and results.

The plugin would be used after update (when you have 5.7 active)Jetxpert-EnvatoBlockedOctober 8, 2018 at 5:36 pmPost count: 339
Tried both methods with a staging site and with plugins on and off (except fusion core and builder). None worked. Still getting the spinning circle for the fusion sliders.
(1) Plugin Method: Managed to get the fusion builder upgrade plugin installed, but didn’t help after activation.
(2) Manual Method: Tried to save manually website slider settings, but the slider refuses to save our settings. They are defaulting to values we don’t recognize.
Click below for details. Hope this helps a little.

One more, final update on this: We tried to create a new fusion slider with Avada 5.7, but couldn’t save any of the settings. So, respectfully, we’ve concluded that there’s something wrong with Avada 5.7. Again, we tried EVERYTHING (plugins on and off, firing orders, caches cleared, etc.). Never had this issue before with any of Avada’s previous updates.
We’ll stick with Avada 5.6.2 for now and wait for another, more robust update or patch.
PS: If you do run into a fix, please share in this forum. Above is not working for us.

Please send an email to email@example.com with details to check out your problematic site. This is something that will need to be investigated.
Note, this is not necessarily a bug in 5.7 and could be set-up specific since we do not have any other records of the same problem. In particular the fact this does not save correctly is most odd and therefore not directly tied to migration. So ideally we need to be able to check it out on the specific set-up you have.

Oh, regarding the Suhosin. The – in the system status means it is not installed/active and is therefore not a problem. Suhosin is not necessary but can cause issues if it is installed.
Also just to make sure the email is noticed. Please give it the title “Fusion Slider – for MC”.
