creating a short name in functions.php file

I am using AVADA for my theme and I was given a recommendation that said:

Web App Manifest lacks a short name.

I have the PWA plug in but not sure how to do this. Is there any video or doc that tells me how?

Hey @projoseph,

In the future, it’s actually better to search the PWA plugin forum on wp.org or search through the GitHub repo list of issues.

I actually posted a thread on this issue over 2 years ago.

Anyway, I noticed the PWA plugin author, Weston Ruter, wrote a plugin that adds a short name input field to the wp-admin general settings. Here’s the gist.
