Can I convert a parent theme into a child theme?

Inherited a client who set up Avada as a parent theme and used a standard Avada template with no custom coding. Can I convert the parent theme (the existing live site) into a child theme before I start managing changes and updating the theme?

Definitely, you can do that without any issues and a child theme can actually be installed any time without any time, we actually ship a child theme with our complete package so you can use that as well.

Thanks for the reply Ammar! I didn’t realize Avada had a simple Child Theme ready to install. Next time I’ll do my homework before I ask another silly question!
