Adding multiple featured images to Custom Post Type

Hello! I’m using the Custom Post Types UI plugin. It works really wel with Avada, except that it only adds 1 featured image. I contacted the plugin developer and he said this is a question best asked to Avada (or the Avada community). Is there an easy way, maybe some code in function.php, to add more featured images? Thanks!
