Plugins / Theme Crash My Site
If your site goes to a white screen when you activate plugins or when you install the theme, it can be due to two specific reasons. Please read below for additional information on each one.
1. Low PHP Server Configurations
Your server needs the correct PHP configurations to run WordPress, the theme and additional plugins. If the resources are too low, it can give you a white screen after trying to activate a new plugin. Thankfully there is an easy fix, see the recommended PHP configurations below.
Recommended PHP Configuration Limits
Many issues that you may run into such as; white screen, demo content fails when importing, empty page content with Fusion Builder and other similar issues are all related to low PHP configuration limits. The solution is to increase the PHP limits. You can do this on your own, or contact your web host and ask them to increase those limits to a minimum as follows:
How To Verify Your Current PHP Limits
You can verify your PHP configuration limits in the System Status tab in the Welcome Screen area. Look in the left sidebar for the Avada > System Status tab. You can also check them by installing a simple plugin found here. In addition, you can always contact your host and ask them what the current settings are and have them adjust them if needed. Please note though that many hosts will try to keep the PHP limits low without reason. However you are paying for it, and therefore should be getting your money's worth.
2. Plugin Conflict
IF your server resources are at the correct level, then it could be due to a 3rd party plugin conflict. Please disable all other plugins and onyl turn on the ones that we include with the theme.
