Fusion Patcher In Avada
In Avada 4.0 we introduced the Fusion Patcher tool (formerly known as the Avada Patcher). This innovative tool allows our development team to deploy fixes and improvements to all Avada dashboards without the need for our team to prepare and release a full Avada update. As of the release of Avada 5.1 the Fusion Patcher functionality has been expanded to include patch application for the Fusion Builder and Fusion Core plugins, in addition the Avada core. All patches are applied at the click of a button, sequentially, without the need for the user to manually apply the patch on the web server.
How To Find And Apply Available Patches
Step 1 - Navigate to the WordPress Dashboard and go to the Avada > Fusion Patcher tab.
Step 2 - There you'll find the Fusion Patcher box. All available patches for the Avada theme, Fusion Builder and Fusion Core plugin will be listed and have a patch number, a tag for the product it's for, description, and a status stating whether it has been applied or not.
Step 3 - Click the Apply Patch button, starting at the top (patches are applied sequentially). All necessary changes will be automatically applied to the theme files for you.
Step 4 - Once the patch is applied, you will see a green check mark in the Status column that confirms the patch was applied.
If Patches Cannot Be Applied Automatically
Sometimes server setups are very particular about file/folder permissions and do not allow files to be automatically written to them. In these cases, applying an automatic patch will not work. If your server doesn't allow the patches to be applied automatically through the Fusion Patcher, you can download the patch files and manually apply the fix with FTP access. The reasons why this might happen are listed below, please contact your host and give them these details and ask them to change it for you:
Applying Patches Manually
If your server doesn't allow the patches to be applied automatically through the Fusion Patcher, you can download the patch files and manually apply the fix with FTP access. The latest patches for Avada and its required plugins will be listed in the order of first to last released. You can find Avada patch files available for download here. On that page, you'll see all available patches for a specific theme version.
If you are not on the latest version of Avada version, simply update your theme. The patches will be in the latest version. For information on updating Avada, see our guide here.
