The easiest way to import our demo content is to use our Demo Content Importer, which you can access after you register your purchase via Token Registration. Our importer will give you all pages and posts, several sample sliders, widgets, Fusion Theme Options, assigned pages, and more. This is recommended to do on fresh installs. It will not replace content like posts, pages, portfolio, etc. and it will not delete current menus or sliders. It will, however, configure and use our demo menus, add sliders and replace Fusion Theme Options, Reading Settings and Widget Settings.
Before Importing Avada Demos
Before you import any of our available demos, please make sure to check the items listed below. All of these are important and will ensure that your demo import goes smoothly. In case something does go wrong with your demo import, please see our Troubleshooting section below.
- Product Registration – Please make sure to register your product via Token Registration to be able to access and import our demos.
- Required Plugins – Install Avada’s required plugins, Fusion Core and Fusion Builder. Also make sure you’ve installed the recommended plugins listed on each demo.
- System Status – Check the System Status tab to ensure your server meets all requirements for a sucessful import. Settings that need attention are listed in red.
- ZipArchive Extensions – You must install and activate the ZipArchive extensions on your server in order for the Layer Slider and Revolution Slider to import demo sliders correctly.
Importing Avada Demos
How To Import Avada Demos
Step 1 – Navigate to the Avada > Install Demos tab in your admin sidebar.
Step 2 – Select the Avada demo you wish to import. Before installing one, make sure to install and activate the required plugins listed on the demo you’d like to import. You can find them on the notice that will pop up when you click ‘Install’. You can also preview the demo by clicking ‘Preview’.
Step 3 – Once you’ve checked all necessary components for importing demos, click the ‘Install’ button to import your selected demo.
Step 4 – It can take a few minutes to import everything. Please be patient and wait for it to complete. Once it loads, you will see a Success message below the tabs.
Step 5 – This is an optional step, especially if you’re planning to replace the demo images with your own. After importing, You’ll then see a message to Regenerate Thumbnails. Install and active the plugin then go to the Tools > Regen. Thumbnails tab and choose ‘Regenerate All Thumbnails’. This will regenerate all images and adapt them to the demo’s image dimensions. This may take a moment to complete.
If you encounter errors during or after importing a demo, please see below for possible solutions. If you don’t find what you’re looking for below, please don’t hesitate to submit a support ticket to our support team.
1.) Missing demos in the ‘Install Demos’ tab
If the demos aren’t appearing on the Avada > Install Demos tab, then your purchase may not have been registered via Token Registration. Please register your product first to access our various Avada demos.
2.) Slider Alias or ID Not Found For Layer or Revolution Slider
If you already have sliders made, or something goes wrong during the import due to low server memory, its possible that our demo sliders may not be applied to the pages. You may see an error such as Revolution Slider Error: Slider with alias Avada_Full_Width not found or LayerSlider cannot be found. Sliders are applied by the Slider ID. Each slider gets its own unique ID and they are given in numerical order. If you open up a page after importing the content, and you see an error like that, you only need to edit the page and assign the slider to the page. To verify you have the sliders, go to the Layer or Revolution Slider section of your admin to see them listed. If you do not see them, then you can import the sliders separately
3.) Demo Import Fails: “Sorry but your import failed.”
If you receive this message Sorry but your import failed. Most likely, it cannot work with your webhost. You will have to ask your webhost to increase your PHP max_execution_time (or any other webserver timeout to at least 300 secs) and memory_limit (to at least 196M) temporarily. it is due to low server memory or execution time and your host should definitely be willing to adjust that. They have it very low if the content will not import. Contact them and explain the issue, they should raise it for you. Please see some important links below dealing with this.
4.) Demo Content Still Will Not Import – Try Alternative Methods
If your host will not make changes, or you cannot get the demo content to import, then please try our Alternative Demo Import Method.
5.) Demo Content Duplicated
When you import our demo content, it can take several minutes depending on the speed of your server. Each time the button is clicked it will import the content, so if it is clicked twice it will import everything two times. There are two ways to get rid of duplicate content.
Method 1: WP Reset Plugin – This plugin is the fastest way to get rid of content. However, it will remove all content from your database and leave the default theme activated. It does not remove plugins, but will deactivate them and remove all pages, posts, menus, sliders, widget data, Fusion Theme Options, etc. Basically it removes all the content that you imported from our theme. Method 2: Manual Removal – This method will take longer and simply involves manually removing duplicate items. For example, go to the Appearance > Menu and delete and duplicate items one by one. Same thing for pages, post, sliders, etc.
6.) Demo Blog Posts Show Up In Your Blog Feed
Our demo content contains 6 published blog posts. If you import on a live site, plugins like JetPack will notice new posts and push them out into your blog feed. Please disable any plugin that may do that before you import. After the import, you can remove the posts or save them as drafts then turn your plugin back on.
7.) Where Are The Rest of The Sliders?
Our live demo contains dozens of sliders. The importer only imports a few samples of each slider. Due to overall file size, most servers would not be able to import more which would cause the import to fail. 8.) Setting Up Mega Menu
When you import our demo content through our Fusion Theme Options Importer, the Mega Menu will not be enabled. This is due to a limitation in WordPress, because it does not allow custom menu settings to import. But we have it setup so you can quickly enable the Mega Menu.
